About Carleton College

Carleton College is located 40 miles south of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota. Students choose Carleton because of our size (about 1900 students), exclusive focus on undergraduate education, small classes and strong sense of community. We also consistently enroll more National Merit scholars than any other undergraduate college. Carleton ranks first among liberal arts colleges in the number of graduates who have gone on to earn Ph.D.s in the laboratory sciences between 1983 and 1992. At least two thirds of our students participate in study abroad or off-campus studies programs.
